My Positive Experience at Moon Palace Resort Cancun, Mexico

Last year during Winter Break my family went on a trip to Cancun. We were all so excited, but my brothers and I have never been to Mexico before so it was even more special! Long plane rides make me tired and when I get to the hotel I want to be able to relax. As soon as we got to the resort there were people there helping us out right away. We had to check in to the resort so the men asked for our names and took our luggage to our rooms so we did not have to worry about it. The people at the front desk were so nice and offered us drinks and snacks while we wait.
The next day we all went to breakfast together. There was one server we had for the whole entire week, his name is Carlos and we all loved him. Every morning we would go down bright and early to talk to him. He asked us about our stay and he even asked us about our lives and made a personal connection with all of us. Carlos was so funny too and would make us laugh the whole time.
At the pool there were little food huts, but my dad would always go inside to talk to Carlos. He made our stay so much better because he really cared about us and he wanted to make sure we had a good time. Given the chance, I would go back to Moon Palace Resort because everyone working there were just like Carlos! So nice and so helpful!

Catherine's Negative Experience

My family loves going to Maine, we have been going there since we were babies. My dad always went to York Maine growing up, but we always went to Wells Beach Maine. We have family friends that live in Maine that we visit all the time. Our parents wanted to all go out to eat together so we chose the Weathervane. Our friends loved going there, but we had never been there before. We got there and immediately put our names on the list. They told us since there were 9 of us that it would be about a 20 minute wait. We were all fine with that because we had no place to be! 20 minutes passed and no one had come to us about being seated. People who came in after us were being sat before us. An hour goes by and finally they come out and apologize for the wait, but it wasn't a sincere apology. We sit at the table and they asked us for our drink orders. 20 minutes later the waitress comes out with our drinks and then asked our food order. An hour and a half passes and she comes out with our food. All of our food was cold and clearly had been done for awhile. We did not care much that we waited so long because we were in the presence of each other, but it was still annoying because it came out so late. This was probably when I was around 7 or 8 and we have not been back since.

Negative Experiance Denny's

One negative experience that I have encounter wasn’t too long ago. I recently went to Denny’s with my girlfriend and her friend. It took a while for us to get seated, the seating arrangement were extremely poor. When being served water was split, our drinks were splits when reaching the table, no apology from the waiter. We had ordered an appetizer and it wasn’t brought out until our main dishes arrived.  When we ordered our food it awhile to get to us and when it did it wasn’t warm my steak wasn’t cooked well. Regarding the service it wasn’t great we waited a long to for our server to come and checkup on us. We have asked multiple for refills, and I would have to go out my way to find another server to get my items.  My guess was that they were very understaffed and that is something that a restaurant like. Regarding our cold food and the bad service there were no accommodation toward our bill or anything

Positive Experiance

this video was taken this summer in Florida my little cousin and I challenged the Slingshot and Won, well I believe I did I honestly don't know about my little cousin. He was pumped but his face said other wise lol.  My Uncle, aunt, and cousin had stayed at the Liki Tiki Village Resort it had 3-4 different pools, arcade, and gym. we didn't stay in rooms they were more like small apartments, Kitchen, 2 full bathrooms, washer and dryer. During our stay it was great the bar by the pool was nice. It had a great view. The resort had 2 Basketball courts, offered fishing, rafting, and biking. If items were needed such as towels and extra blankets etc. we could call the front desk and it would be brought over. our stay was more like as if we were home, we cooked, cleaned were we had stay. I'm not entirely sure I think at time when we lefts maids would come to vacuum the floors or something. They offered Wi-Fi as wells as cable, the only down fall about the Wi-Fi was that only (5) devices could be connected at once. Overall our trip at the was a great experience. I fell what made experience was that we had the freedom in the apartment.

One negative experience that I have encounter wasn’t too long ago. I recently went to olive garden with my friend and his family. When we first sat down out waiter approached us and asked if we would like a sample of wine, this was great but he did not ask us for any identification to see if we were over the age of 21, that was the first thing I have noticed. When we ordered our food it awhile to get to us and when  it did it wasn’t warm and the chicken was room temperature and the food just wasn’t  up to the olive garden standard that you see it on tv that promotes good Italian food. Regarding the service it wasn’t great we waited a long to for our server to com and checkup on us. We have asked multiple of the servers for sauce and still it too awhile. My guess was that they were very understaffed and that is something that a restaurant like that faces very often. Regarding our cold food and the bad service there were no accommodation toward our bill or anything. If you asked me if I would go back there I probably wouldn’t go to that same one just because of the bad service and the low grade quality of the food

One positive experience that I have encountered was last summer. My family and friends have had went to carmines in New York City. The atmosphere of the restaurant is a family style restaurant s you sit down and order what you want and they always start you off with a salad and one of the unique attributes that this restaurant presents is that you sit at a long table with people that you don’t know. This is an Italian restaurant and the food is something you will never have the same taste anywhere else. You can tell that the food is authentic Italian food.  When in the restaurant you feel like as if you are all one big family. By being seated with people you don’t know that gives you an opportunity to talk and conversant. The overall experience and the service was great. The waiters and waitress would always come up every five minutes asking if everything was alright and if we needed anything. The greatest thing is that it is in the heart of the city down the street from Times Square.

Tori's Positive Experience

A positive experience that I have had was at  a near by coffee shop in Connecticut. They are always willing to do more then asked and help you in any way possible. This is a family owned café and they take pride in anything and everything that they do. I was sitting with my friend and an elderly ladys cane fell over and knocked our table, spilling  my coffee and as soon as the workers realized what happned they made me a new coffee. This was extra nice of them because I really only had two sips left and I felt bad because it was an accident and they made sure that I got a whole new coffee and offered something from the bakery. I insured them that it was nice enough that they made me a new coffee and that it was not necessary to give me more. Being such a small place they have to make sure that people come back and support their company.. I will forever go to that place no matter what.

Tori's Negative Experience

When I went to the restaurant called On the Border in Connecticut we had a waitress was new and you could tell that she did not know what she was doing. She brought the drinks over and spilt them all over the table because her and her co worker were fooling around. I get that accidents happen but, this spilt on my sisters phone and the only thing that the waitress said to us was " It's just a phone she will live without it until she gets a new one and its not like I did it on purpose" when she said this comment we nearly fell off our seats. We were not telling her to pay for a new phone we were letting her know that it had gotten on the phone. If the waitress did not make the comment that she did this whole thing would have blown over and we would have just gotten a new phone but because of the comment and the lack of an apology we brought it to the manager and he talked it over with her and when he came back to the table he told us that this is not the first time that this happened with her and that he is extremely sorry and that he would pay for the phone or give us a 50$ gift card. We decided on the gift card because we had phone insurance

Kates Negative Experience

A few weeks ago my friends and I were craving ice cream and decided, why not lets go to Friendly's! When we got there we decided to sit down for our ice cream rather than get it to go so we walked inside and patiently waited to be seated. There happened to be a special needs girl that was seating everyone and I thought, good for her since usually you only see special needs people getting the work opportunities at grocery stores rather than dealing with food places. It took her about 10 minutes to sit us down and it wasn't busy but we all gave her a break as she was a little more challenged than the rest of us. Our waitress came over to us and asked if we wanted any drinks and if we were ready to order our ice cream now or wanted a second, we ordered waters and also ordered our ice cream. Twenty minutes went buy and she had not brought is our waters yet and I mean come on how hard is it go get four glasses of water? So we asked if our ice cream would be out soon and she said yes and shouldn't take much longer. Another 10 minutes went by and we decided to find our waitress and ask for our ice creams to go since we still have not received our waters at this point. When she brings our ice creams out to us they are melted, almost like they were sitting out back for a while and she basically threw them onto the table. Overall the service was awful and I will not go back there for a while, if I even ever go again.

Negative Experience

Haven't had all that many bad experiences when dining out. The only one that comes to mind was in November of last year a couple friends and I went to the Fridays at Blackstone. I didn't have any complaints about the service or the ambiance, it was when we got our food when the problem occurred. I forget exactly what I ordered but it was some sort of grilled chicken sandwich and it looked good on the menu. I had asked the waitress about this type of sauce that I never heard of before and she talked it up pretty highly. I said sure I will give it a try and that was where I made a mistake. The sandwich came out and after a few bites I had a really weird taste in my mouth and then after a little thought I figure it to be the sauce. Looked into it a little bit more, smelled the sauce and boy did that sh*t smell bad. I was sure that it went bad, and had informed the waitress. She replies with,  "thats how its suppose to smell" which I still find very hard to believe. This sauce was definitely not suppose to smell this way, it was like a mixture of rotten eggs and bad milk. Needless to say I gave that sandwich back and ordered some wings. There was no compensation like free wings or 15% off.. They didn't change me for the sandwich, obviously, but I felt as though they could have done something to compensate me for such a disgusting sauce and experience. Probably won't go back to that Fridays ever again.

Positive Experience

Last week my Mother came up from Boston to visit and take me out to dinner. We went over to Capalaris is Webster, which is a family owned Italian Restaurant. I had driven by this place a bunch of times and always wanted to try it but never did, so thats where we went. I must say it was pretty excellent, from the food to the service to the atmosphere. It was a self seating style restaurant which I always find convenient because we were able to sit where ever we wanted. The waitress was efficient and kind and also knew the menu very well. As far as the food, I ordered chicken parm ad my Mom got a cheese pizza. The parm was 10/10 and the pizza was even better. We both agreed that this was some of the best pizza we have EVER had, and a large was only $10. From the dough, to the sauce, to the cheese, we had 0 complaints. Definitely a place I will go to again as well as recommend to a friend.

Kimberlys negative experience

Recently a friend from home and I went to Uno's by her school. We went in on a Friday afternoon around 1o'clock. Our waitress had us and another table of ladies who were nurses. We ordered and appetizer and our drinks, and then ordered our food five minutes later.  I kid you not when I say this we waited 45 minutes to close to an hour for our food, we only got a wedge salad and two burgers. The other table that this waitress had they had to ask another waitress where our waitress was so they could leave and go back to work. She did not check in on us at all, we only got one drink each which was water, from when we got our appetizer which was at I would say 1:15 to a little after our meals came out we did not have a second drink or got checked on. Our meals were wrong and we were so happy when the manager of the restaurant walked by after the waitress left us or receipt. He saw how frustrated we were, my friend goes to that restaurant a lot when shes out at school. She even told the manager "this is the worst service and experience I have EVER had here" he apologized took our receipt, comped us for the bad service and apologized for everything. Needless to say we are not going there around that time again.

Kates Positive Experience

Over Spring Break I went to Dunkin Donuts because well who doesn't!? I ordered a coffee and bagel which shouldn't take long at all you would think. Five minutes went buy and I finally got my coffee. I was standing there watching the lady at the bagel station just sit there and talk to other employees, wondering what the heck she was doing and why she wasn't making my bagel. Now ten minutes have gone by and this girl walks from out from out back with some sort of long cutting board. It seemed like they were fooling around the whole time but turns out they were cleaning the cutting board. It would have been nice if the lady just simply said "were just waiting on the board" or something like that. After she gave me the bag with my bagel in it there was hash browns also which I had not orderer. She looked at me and said "sorry for the wait honey I put something extra in there." She turned bad customer service into something a little better.

Kimberly's Positive Guest Experience

Almost every Friday or Saturday, my family and I always go to this restaurant in our town named Mariano's. Mariano's is a small family owned Italian restaurant, they also own another restaurant in the town over from mine named Bailey's (the original restaurant).  One Friday night my parents and I went to Mariano's and we had our favorite waitress ever, her name is Jessica. So we sat down like always, order our food, talk to Jessica and the owners and usually we see other people we know there. We get our food and everything like we normally do, finish eating and Jessica usually comes by a  few times like a normal waitress or waiter would do. After she sees we finish our dinner she asks if we need boxes and if we would like dessert, we say "no thank you" so Jessica leaves the table. Normally after five minutes she come with our check but not this time. She walks over with the black book looks at the three of us and said "all set you guys have a great night" then the owner Pam walks over and says "thank you guys for being such frequent customers of ours, dinner is on Dom and I tonight".  All three of us were in complete shock and so grateful that they know that we are frequent customers. We love that restaurant and everyone that makes it happen, it was nice of them to do that for us, and I hope that they continue to branch out and expand their restaurant business.

Negative Experience

Last weekend I celebrated my uncle's birthday at a new buffet in Revere, MA. The buffet was called Flaming Grill & Buffet and was recently built. Personally, I love buffets because of the variety of foods and drinks but this buffet made me change my mind. The food was okay. What I did not like was the waitress and customer attractions. As we at our food the waitress came too early to ask about the check and she kept doing it over and over again. I felt like it was rude and disrespectful because it's a buffet were people go up and get their food to eat but I can't do that when I'm getting rushed. Also, the buffet is really small so the atmosphere was really crowed and uncomfortable. There was no music, it was loud of course, lots of coughing because of how crowded the place was. I just believe that if they work on their customer and worker relations a little more and stretch the size of the place then I think I would go back again but right now I can never go.

Positive Experience

When I was a child we would go to Universal Resorts each summer. The reason we'd go so many times is because our family loved the theme park, the services, the weather and the hotels. This picture is from the first time that I've ever been there. In the picture, I'm the young guy in the middle, my brother, god-sister and I decided to pose next to some model cars in Hollywood Studios. First off, to get to Universal Studios our family had a garage sale and fortunately made enough to take a family of 5 to Florida. Since this was so long ago I decided to ask my mom about our first time there. She told me about the hotel we stayed at, the cheap prices for both the plane ticket and hotel and how we were treated. We stayed in the Hard Rock Hotel, which was and still is expensive but it came with incredible deals and packages. We had fast passes, early park admissions, priority seating in restaurants and many other great benefits. I was too young to remember but my mother's words showed me that we had a great time, the cost wasn't as expensive because we came as a big family and our first time was a clear positive experience because we continued to come back year after year.

Ra'mel's Negative Expereince

One day I was on instagram and noticed one of my favorite artists Future posted a ad that he was performing in Waterbury, CT. Me and 3 other close friends immediately reserved our tickets because we were so excited to see him for the first time of my life. We ended up walking from our hotel to the gig which was held at the Waterbury Palace Theatre. When we got there the line was wrapped around the building just to get in. The show started in 30 min by the way. Not only was the line long but it started to rain. After about 10 minutes people started barging in so I did what they did and followed inside. Not only were people not waiting their turn but people were walking in without showing tickets so anyone could walk in. That got me really mad due to the fact I spent money on the tickets and wasn't fair. People were shoving without a care in the world and security was no where to be found. When we got to the show Future wouldn't perform till a speaker was fixed on stage for maximum quality so we had to wait again. Throughout the performance people were in the aisles and in the way of people and there was no security. Once the concert was over it was a struggle to get out because of all the people trying to get out. Once we almost reached our hotel down the street we heard gunshots. Long story short. The Palace Theatre was unprofessional and I wouldn't go back again.

Ra'mels Positive Experience

When I was a child I would remember my mom bringing me and my family to this seafood restaurant about 45 minutes away from my house. For some odd reason we never went back but I would always remember this restaurant because it has some of the best seafood I've ever tasted. Therefore, I thought about going recently so I went. The restaurant is called Chowder Pot which is located in Branford, CT. When I got there I was seated right away with a nice female server. She brought me back my drink ands some warm bread which held me over till my entre came out. My server would check on me accordingly with a smile making sure I was alright. My entre took about 30 minutes to come out. Well let me just say it was worth waiting every minute. I ordered the seafood fettuccini alfredo. The plate was so full I only ate half of my delicious meal. Once I asked for my check my server brought me wet wipes to clean up, mints to freshen my breath and toothpicks to clean my teeth. I had no choice but to leave  good tip. Chowder Pot treated me and fed me so well there is no reason to not go back soon! 5 stars in my book.

Sam's negative Experience

My family and I decided to go on vacation to Disney a few year ago but we decided to use my aunts time share instead of going to a regular hotel because it was cheaper and different. When we first got there the outside was beautiful and was so tropical. When we got to our room it was very different then a regular hotel room. It was set up like a suite with a kitchen, dining room, living room and three bedrooms with a huge master. My brother and I were excited because the room was giant and there was a patio out back that led us to the pool area. You would think we had an amazing experience but it was far from that. After the first day of being there I don't think I saw one employ walking around or even out by the pool. The room was really dirty from the first day we got there and they didn't have house keeping come to clean our room. We called the front desk several times but they would either never answer or they would say they were bringing something to our room and wouldn't. To top it all off my parents got the whooping cough as soon as we got home which could be just a coincidence but I don't think it was because of how dirty everything was in the room. Overall I don't think I would ever go back to that same resort because of how bad of an experience it was.

Nate's Negative Expirence

This past weekend was my first time traveling back home in awhile and it couldn't have felt like a longer trip. I only live about 1 hour 15minutes away but this trip was the longest thing ever, between the traffic and being cut off to spilling my Gatorade all in my backpack, nothing was going my way. It was getting late and I needed a coffee to help stay alert so I pulled off into the first Dunkin Donuts I saw. I am a big fan of Dunkin Donuts and their iced coffee, however this trip did not come even close to the standards I expect when I go to Dunkin Donuts. First off when walked in I was looked at by about 3 employees and did not receive a greeting or recognition of any kind. after standing at the counter a women looked at me and in a rude tone said "what do you want?" after I told her 1 ice coffee order and waited for about another 10 minutes I received a hot cider of some sort. I confronted her and telling this is not my order and restating my order there was no apologies and I received a response "I didn't make it I wouldn't know." After some more correction, dirty looks, and rude comments I finally got my coffee and left as fast as I could. at this point in my day I didn't even care I wasn't home yet, I was just happy to be out of there.

Cady's Positive Experience

Over this past spring break I was in Orlando, Florida on a trip with my friends. One night we decided to go to Epcot for dinner and ate in Italy at Via Napoli. We had a large group of people with us and they were very accommodating. We decided to split the check into 2 since half of us were sharing one item. This worked out and made things a lot easier. While we were there, they noticed one person in our group had a birthday pin on  and came over with a free dessert and asked if they could sing. I liked how they notice things like that and how they asked if they could sing before hand. Some people do not like to be sang to or to be the center of attention, but lucky for us, our friend did not mind them singing. Over all, the food was so delicious and a great experience.
