While I was interning in Walt Disney World, the Disney College Program put on many special events for their interns. One of the events was called Night of Stars. On this night, they had booked out the House of Blues in Disney Springs just for the interns and had participants of the College Program performing various acts. It was a talent show just for the Disney College Program. My roommate and I went as guests. On this day, they treated us like celebrities. When we first got to the House of Blues, they had a red carpet rolled out and photographers taking pictures as if they were the paparazzi. This made us feel very special. All involved got to feel like celebrities. The outside of the venue was not the only place they enhanced the guest experience, once we were inside, they had complimentary snacks and beverages. Not only did these little touches enhance their event, they also enhanced our experience at the event. It made the event exciting and really took it to the next level. It also kept my roommate and I coming back. We went to other events that the DCP had to offer, including the Winter Formal that they hosted at Coronado Springs.

Why do you think the Disney College Program did this type of thing for its participants?
ReplyDeleteGina, how often do they do these kind of events for the interns/ college program? Can cast members participate as well or do they have something separate?

ReplyDeletedo you think the reason that Disney does this often for their interns to make them feel welcomed and apart of the Disney community.
ReplyDeleteJojo, I do think that is why they do these things for the interns. They want us to feel like a part of something bigger than just going to work everyday.
ReplyDeleteCady, these events are just for the College Program participants. Disney does offer events that are open to all the cast members though.
